e are a Long Beach based Dragon Boat Team with members from Los Angeles and Orange Counties. We welcome men and women 18 and older for recreational and competitive paddling.Our goals are to have fun, make friends, and foster good sportsmanship in the sport of Dragon Boating. We challenge our members to do their best both in training for, and competing in, this year’s tournaments.

A Dragon Boat is 10 meters long and one meter wide. It has a crew of 16 to 20 paddlers who provide the power, a Drummer at the bow who commands, and a Steersperson astern who keeps the boat pointed in the right direction.
At the Long Beach tournament, each heat is typically between six boats that race 500 meters in under two-and-a-half minutes. It is to improve those times that we practice almost all year long.
